Christmas Tree Cookies Recipe This Christmas Tree Cookies Recipe is Compliments of Makin' Memories Cookbook Christmas Tree Cookies are fun to make - and delicious to eat! 1 cup shortening 1/8 teaspoon salt 3/4 cup sugar 1/4 teaspoon baking powder 1 egg 1 teaspoon almond extract 2 1/4 cups sifted flour Green vegetable coloring PREHEAT OVEN TO 375 DEGREES 1. Cream shortening and add sugar gradually. Mix well. Add unbeaten egg, mix. 2. Add sifted dry ingredients, flavoring, and a few drops of vegetable coloring into mixture slowly. Mix well. 3. Fill cookie press using tree plate. Press out dough onto cookie sheet. Decorate with tiny candies. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes.
