Jack-O-Lantern Treats Candy Recipe
Compliments of Makin' Memories Cookbook
1/4 cup margarine or butter
1 can orange frosting 1 package (10-ounce, about 40) regular marshmallows, or 4 cups of miniature marshmallows
1 package licorice
1 package gum drops 5 cups Kellogg's Marshmallow Krispies cereal
1. Melt margarine in large saucepan over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Cook over low heat 3 minutes longer, stirring constantly. Remove from heat.
2. Add Marshmallow Krispies cereal. Stir until well coated.
3. To make five Jack-O-Lanterns, divide cereal into five equal parts.
4. Grease palms of hands with margarine, to keep mixture from sticking to your hands. Form pumpkin-shaped balls and stems.
5. Decorate face with orange frosting (optional). Use gumdrops for eyes and nose, and licorice for mouth.
6. Tips for decorating Jack-O-Lantern using green gumdrops: Shape into a stem. Press gumdrop flat and shape into a leaf.
7. To make a hat, flatten gumdrop and place another gumdrop on top.
Yields 5 Jack-O-Lantern Treats
Note: Best results are obtained when using fresh marshmallows.
