Compliments of Makin' Memories Cookbook

Mississippi Mud Pie is a delicious dessert for the entire family to make memories. One prepare the crust, another the cream filling, and another the chocolate filling. My granddaughters' special for special holidays.

Crust:

1 stick margarine
3/4 cup chopped pecans
1 cup flour

PREHEAT OVEN TO 350 DEGREES

1. Cream margarine and flour with pastry cutter or two knives.

2. Add pecans and mix with fork.

3. Spread very flat in 13x9-inch pan and bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes or until golden brown.

4. Remove from oven and stir. Let cool; press mixture on bottom of pan.

Filling:

1 cup powdered sugar
1/2 large Cool Whip
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese

1. Using the electric mixer, blend sugar and cream cheese.

2. Fold Cool Whip into cream cheese mixture.

3. Spread on top of crust.

Chocolate Filling:

2 small packages instant chocolate pudding
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
3 cups milk

1. Mix pudding, milk and vanilla and beat until thick.

2. Place on top of cream cheese filling. Top with 1/2 large container of Cool Whip, 1/4 cup chopped pecans and cherries.

Mississippi Mud Pie is a great dessert for children!
