Valentines Cake Recipe Valentines Cake Recipe Compliments of Makin' Memories Cookbook Unique, Beautiful, Delicious Get the entire family involved in making this Valentine's cake. 1 box of white cake mix 6 tablespoons granulated or confectioners sugar 1 9-inch round cake pan 1 9-inch square cake pan 1 quart fresh strawberries 1 pint heavy whipping cream 1 tablespoon vanilla Step I: Cake 1. Bake cake according to directions on box in 9-inch round cake pan and 9-inch square cakepan. 2. Cool. 3. Cut each cake layer into 2 layers. 4. Cut the round layer in half. Step II: Frosting 1. In a chilled bowl, beat 2 cups chilled whipping cream; 1 tablespoon vanilla; and 6 tablespoons granulated or confectioners sugar until stiff. Be sure that bowl, beaters, and cream are ice cold. Step III: Strawberries 1. To clean fresh strawberries, rinse in cold water leaving stem on. Pat dry. 2. Remove stem ends. 3. Slice. Step IV: Construction 1. Place one square layer in center of tray; place round layers to form heart. 2. Frost with a thick layer of whipped cream and top with plenty of strawberries. 3. Add second layer of cake; repeat layering of whipped cream and berries. 4. Ice sides with whipped cream.
